Get ready for a musical treat as five talented student vocalists from Schoharie take center stage at Proctors! A celebration of young talent and a tradition that gives back.
These five exceptional singers have been chosen to join the ESYO Melodies Chorale, a prestigious opportunity that brings together the Empire State Youth Orchestra and the best vocal talent from across the Capital Region.
The line-up includes:
- Soprano: Ava Cranmer
- Alto: Aven Manning
- Tenor: Corbin Foster
- Bass: Peter Sherer and Zavier Torres
Under the guidance of Dr. Michael Lister, these students have been working hard to perfect their choral selections for the highly anticipated "Melodies of Christmas" show. The performances at Proctors will run from December 18th to 21st, so mark your calendars and secure your tickets via the Proctors website.
But here's where it gets controversial... or at least thought-provoking. The CBS 6 Melodies of Christmas show has been a beloved holiday tradition for over four decades, but it's more than just a festive celebration. It's a vital fundraiser for the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders, having raised an incredible $10 million to date. So, while we enjoy the beautiful music and the holiday spirit, let's also remember the impact this tradition has on the lives of children facing serious health challenges.
And this is the part most people miss: the hard work and dedication of these young artists. These students have not only honed their vocal skills but have also committed to a rigorous rehearsal schedule under the mentorship of Dr. Lister. Their dedication is an inspiration, and we can't wait to see them shine on stage.
Congratulations to our Schoharie students on this remarkable achievement! We're proud to support their musical journey and the important cause they're contributing to.
Don't miss this chance to witness the future of music and support a worthy cause. See you at Proctors!
