Bo Nickal vs. Yoel Romero Canceled! RAF 5 Fallout, Weight Misses & Updated Card Breakdown (2026)

Get ready for a major letdown, wrestling fans! The highly anticipated showdown between Bo Nickal and Yoel Romero at RAF 5 has been canceled at the last minute. Yes, you read that right. The match that everyone was waiting for is officially off. But here's where it gets controversial...

Promotion officials dropped the bombshell Saturday morning: Yoel Romero failed to make weight for his light heavyweight championship unification wrestling match against Bo Nickal, the current UFC middleweight and RAF 205-pound champ. This weight miss has huge consequences. Nickal is now automatically crowned the undisputed champion without even competing. Talk about anticlimactic!

And this is the part most people miss: Romero has been stripped of his interim title, but he WILL still be on the card. He's now set to face Stephen Buchanan, who also missed weight for his original matchup against Pat Downey. Downey, like Nickal, is now out of the competition entirely. It's a domino effect of missed opportunities!

This is actually the second time this Nickal-Romero match has been scheduled and then scrapped. Nickal had to withdraw from their original meeting at RAF 4. Romero, eager to compete, went ahead and dominated Pat Downey in his first freestyle wrestling match in over 20 years, securing a decisive 12-0 tech fall victory. So, the hype for this rematch was definitely building!

Sadly, the second attempt at bringing Nickal and Romero together on the wrestling mat proved to be just as unsuccessful. What do you think? Was Romero's weight miss a sign of something more? Was it simply an honest mistake, or does it hint at deeper issues?

Adding insult to injury, RAF featherweight champion Jordan Oliver also missed weight for his scheduled title defense rematch against Real Woods, and he's been stripped of his title. However, their match will proceed as planned. If Woods emerges victorious, he will be crowned the new champion. Quite a shakeup!

RAF 5 kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and streams exclusively on FOX Nation, headlined by the clash between Colby Covington and Luke Rockhold.

Here's the updated lineup:

Colby Covington vs. Luke Rockhold

Kyle Dake vs. Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau

Arman Tsarukyan vs. Lance Palmer

Jordan Oliver vs. Real Woods

Yoel Romero vs Stephen Buchanan

Nate Jackson vs Zahid Valencia

Nathan Tomasello vs. Austin DeSanto

Bo Bassett vs. Cayden Henschel

Mostafa Elders vs. Steve Mocco

Pat Lugo vs. Johnni DiJulius

Mugzy vs. Georgio

So, what are your thoughts on all these last-minute changes and weight misses? Does this diminish the overall excitement of RAF 5? And most importantly, do you believe Bo Nickal truly deserves the undisputed title under these circumstances? Let us know in the comments below!
